Physics and Biology in Medicine Graduate Program

Interdisciplinary Certificate in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) in Medical Physics

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) techniques are becoming increasingly important in the fields of Radiology, Molecular Imaging, Theranostics and Radiation Therapy. Academia, industry, government and professional organizations all have initiatives related to research, development, application and appropriate clinical utilization of AI/ML -based methods in these fields. Applications of AI/ML range from scheduling of tasks, assessment of radiation therapy treatment plan quality, disease detection and assessment in medical images and many, many more proposed clinical applications.

With this certificate program, we aim to bring graduate students together across various disciplines to highlight their dedication to advancement and growth in this important area of study. By fostering a shared curriculum and connecting students via joint educational activities, this certificate program will provide a home for students with mutual research interests as well as an opportunity to receive recognition for their interest and training in developing an expertise in AI/ML.
